Course overview

Try breathing underwater for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience at Khao Lak, the gateway to the Similan Islands. Under the close supervision of a PADI professional you complete two introductory ocean dives on a sheltered local reef to around 12 metres, the perfect taster before committing to a full certification.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe comfortably underwater using scuba equipment
• Equalise your ears and clear your mask
• Recover a regulator and manage basic buoyancy
• Move and communicate with simple hand signals
• Follow your instructor safely on a guided reef dive
• Understand basic scuba safety rules

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Reasonable health (medical questionnaire required)
• Able to be comfortable in water
