Course overview

Try breathing underwater for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience in Rasdhoo Atoll, an ideal introduction in warm, clear water that often reaches 25 metres of visibility. Under the direct supervision of a PADI professional you will learn a few simple skills in shallow water before exploring a gentle reef, with no experience or prior certification needed.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe comfortably underwater on scuba for the first time
• Clear water from your mask and recover your regulator
• Equalise and descend gently with an instructor
• Move and control your position underwater
• Use basic hand signals to communicate
• Observe reef fish and turtles in a safe, guided setting

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10
• No experience or swimming certification required
• Able to be comfortable in water
• Diver medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if any condition applies)

1. Day1
   Briefing, skills & reef dive

   Equipment and safety briefing, a few basic skills in shallow water, then a guided dive on a calm reef such as Veligandu East with your instructor.
