Course overview

PADI Discover Scuba Diving on the Perhentian Islands is the perfect first taste of breathing underwater, with no certification required. After a short briefing you head into the warm, calm shallows off Long Beach with an instructor at your side to glide over coral and meet the reef's clownfish, parrotfish and maybe a passing turtle.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe comfortably underwater on scuba
• Equalise your ears and clear your mask
• Use basic scuba equipment with instructor support
• Move and stay neutrally buoyant in shallow water
• Follow simple underwater communication signals

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Reasonable health and comfort in water
• Complete a brief medical questionnaire before diving
