Course overview

Try scuba for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience in Papua New Guinea, breathing underwater in the warm, sheltered shallows of Kimbe Bay. Under direct instructor supervision you learn a few basic skills and then glide over coral reefs alive with anemonefish and turtles, no certification or experience needed. It is the easiest way to sample why Papua New Guinea is a world diving destination.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe comfortably underwater on scuba for the first time
• Equalise your ears and clear your mask
• Move and stay neutral over the reef
• Communicate with basic underwater hand signals
• Follow your instructor safely on a shallow reef dive

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Basic comfort and confidence in the water
• Complete a short medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if needed)
