Course overview

Try scuba for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience in Papua New Guinea, breathing underwater in the warm, sheltered shallows of Kimbe Bay. Under direct instructor supervision you learn a few basic skills and then glide over coral reefs alive with anemonefish and turtles, no certification or experience needed. It is the easiest way to sample why Papua New Guinea is a world diving destination.

The PADI Discover Scuba pathway

PADI Discover Scuba Diving is an introductory experience, not a certification. The skills you complete can later be credited toward the PADI Open Water Diver course if you choose to continue.

Where you'll dive in Papua New Guinea

The experience uses the calm, warm shallows of Kimbe Bay around its island fringing reefs, where 27-30°C water and gentle conditions let first-timers relax and watch anemonefish and turtles, ideal in the dry season from May to October.
