Course overview

Try breathing underwater for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience on Bangaram Island, India's only true tropical-island resort, set in the calm, gin-clear lagoon of remote Lakshadweep. Under direct instructor supervision you make your first descent into warm 27-30C water alive with coral and reef fish. It is the perfect, no-pressure introduction to scuba in one of the country's most pristine settings.

What you’ll learn

• Recover and clear your regulator
• Move and maintain basic buoyancy underwater
• Communicate with simple hand signals

Prerequisites

• No experience or certification required
• No swimming certification required, though basic water comfort helps
• Minimum age 10
• Reasonable health; a brief medical questionnaire applies

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Discover Scuba

   Complete a safety briefing, practise basic skills in the lagoon shallows, then make a guided dive on Bangaram's house reef to a maximum of 12 metres.
