Course overview

Try breathing underwater for the first time with the PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience in Ambon on the Banda Sea. Under direct instructor supervision you learn a few basic skills in shallow water and then make a guided dive to a maximum of 12 metres over a gentle local reef — no certification or prior experience needed.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe comfortably underwater on scuba for the first time
• Clear water from your mask and recover your regulator
• Equalise and control your depth and buoyancy basics
• Communicate with simple hand signals
• Move around underwater with an instructor at your side
• Understand basic safety rules and equipment

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Able to be comfortable in the water
• Complete a short medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if any condition applies)
