Course overview

PADI Discover Scuba Diving is the easiest way to try diving in Alor, an instructor-led introduction with no certification required. After a short safety briefing you breathe underwater for the first time on a shallow, sheltered reef, getting a taste of the colourful marine life that makes this off-grid Indonesian island special.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe comfortably underwater using scuba equipment
• Equalise your ears and clear your mask
• Achieve basic buoyancy and move around underwater
• Communicate with simple hand signals
• Follow your instructor safely on a shallow reef

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10
• No experience or swimming certification required
• Basic comfort in water
• No prior training needed
• Able to complete a brief medical questionnaire
