Course overview

Extend your range to the recreational limit with the PADI Deep Diver specialty in Port Blair and learn to dive safely to 40 metres. Over two days in the Andaman Sea you practise deep-dive planning, gas management and narcosis awareness on the deeper walls and sites that surround the islands. The certification opens up the deeper wrecks and wildlife that lie below sport-diving depths.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct dives to a maximum of 40 metres
• Manage air supply and no-decompression limits at depth
• Recognise and respond to nitrogen narcosis
• Monitor your buddy and dive equipment at depth
• Use a reference line and safety-stop procedures
• Handle the effects of depth on colour, light and time

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver or higher (Advanced Open Water recommended)
• Comfortable with buoyancy and air management
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep theory & first dives

   Cover deep-diving planning and narcosis awareness, then make your first progressively deeper dives in the Andaman Sea.
2. Day2
   To 40 metres

   Complete the remaining deep dives, including a dive toward the 40-metre limit on a suitable Andaman wall, and certify.
