Course overview

Unlock the deeper sites of Mauritius with the PADI Deep Diver specialty, which extends your limit to 40 metres on the reef-rich west coast. Diving from Flic-en-Flac, you train on dramatic sites such as Cathedral, whose walls and arches drop well beyond 30 metres, learning to plan deep dives, manage gas and recognise narcosis. You finish certified to explore the island's deeper reefs and pinnacles.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to recreational depths beyond 30 metres
• Manage gas supply, no-decompression limits and safety stops at depth
• Recognise and respond to nitrogen narcosis
• Monitor and adjust for colour loss and reduced light
• Use surface-supplied or stage cylinders for safety where required
• Apply deep-dive contingency and ascent planning

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water (or qualifying certification)
• Comfortable with buoyancy and air management
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

1. Day1
   Theory and first deep dives

   Deep-diving principles and two adventure dives building toward 40 metres on west-coast walls.
2. Day2
   Deeper dives and certification

   Complete planning, narcosis and contingency exercises on deeper dives, then certify.
