Course overview

Extend your range to recreational depths with the PADI Deep Diver specialty in Ambon on the Banda Sea, where steep walls and the Twilight Zone drop-off invite deeper exploration. You learn to plan and manage dives to a maximum of 40 metres while monitoring gas, narcosis and no-decompression limits, finishing certified as a PADI Deep Diver.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to a maximum recreational depth of 40 metres
• Recognise and manage nitrogen narcosis
• Monitor air consumption and no-decompression limits at depth
• Make safety and emergency-decompression stops correctly
• Use redundant air sources and plan contingency procedures
• Account for colour loss, light and temperature changes with depth

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification)
• Comfortable with multilevel and deeper diving
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & deeper dives

   Cover deep-diving theory and planning, then make the first deeper dives along a local wall.
2. Day2
   Depth & certification

   Complete dives toward the 40m maximum with narcosis and gas-management exercises, then certify.
