Course overview

Step beyond a single try-dive with an entry-level supervised scuba experience in the Seychelles, learning core skills on Mahe's sheltered reefs before progressing toward full certification. In the PADI system this maps to the Scuba Diver pathway, where you train in the calm waters near Beau Vallon and make supervised dives to 12 metres over coral and granite reef. It is an easy, confidence-building first step you can later upgrade to Open Water Diver.

The PADI Basic Diver pathway

In the PADI system the entry-level supervised certification is PADI Scuba Diver, which permits dives to 12 metres under the supervision of a PADI professional. It is a recognised subset of the Open Water Diver course and upgrades directly to full Open Water Diver.

Where you'll dive in Seychelles

Training uses the sheltered reefs near Beau Vallon on Mahe, where calm 26-30C water over coral and granite boulders suits supervised first dives. The course runs comfortably year-round.
