Course overview

The PADI Basic Diver programme in Muscat is a short, supervised introduction to scuba over two days, bridging a first taster and a full Open Water certification in Oman's calm coastal water. You complete confined-water skill practice and guided shallow dives near Bandar Khayran, building genuine competence before progressing. You finish with foundational skills logged toward your PADI Open Water course.

What you’ll learn

• Set up and use basic scuba equipment
• Breathe comfortably and equalise underwater
• Clear your mask and recover your regulator
• Manage buoyancy in shallow water
• Use standard dive hand signals
• Move and explore a shallow reef with control

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Reasonable health and comfort in water
• Complete a brief medical questionnaire

1. Day1
   Skills & first dive

   Learn basic theory and equipment handling, practise core skills in confined water and complete a first shallow dive near Muscat.
2. Day2
   Reef dive & review

   Reinforce the skills with a second guided shallow dive at Bandar Khayran and review your path toward Open Water.
