Course overview

Start diving with a Basic Diver path on Ambergris Caye, an introductory certification built on the PADI system and set on the Belize Barrier Reef. You develop core scuba skills and complete supervised dives in the clear, calm water off San Pedro, laying the groundwork to advance to full Open Water Diver.

What you’ll learn

• Set up and use basic scuba equipment
• Breathe and move comfortably underwater
• Clear a mask and recover a regulator
• Control buoyancy and descents at a basic level
• Communicate using hand signals
• Dive within shallow recreational limits under supervision

Prerequisites

• No prior certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Comfortable in water
• Complete a diver medical questionnaire
