Course overview

The PADI Advanced Open Water course builds on your Open Water certification with five adventure dives that take you to 30 metres and expand your skills, ideal among Trincomalee's varied reefs and wrecks. You complete Deep and Underwater Navigation as core dives plus three of your choice from options like Wreck, Night and Peak Performance Buoyancy, exploring Pigeon Island Marine Park and the deeper sites near Swami Rock.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior Advanced Open Water)
• PADI Open Water Diver (or qualifying certification from another agency)
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician
• Reasonable comfort and fitness in the water

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep & navigation dives

   Complete the two core adventure dives, building depth experience near Swami Rock and navigation skills over the reefs.
2. Day2
   Elective dives & certification

   Make three elective adventure dives such as Wreck or Night around Pigeon Island, then certify as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver.
