Course overview

Open up Malta and Gozo's best dives with the PADI Advanced Open Water course, which builds your skills across five adventure dives including deep and underwater navigation. You put new abilities straight to work on the islands' upright wrecks, dramatic walls and Comino's caverns, diving to 30 metres. You finish certified as a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct dives to 30 metres on the deep adventure dive
• Navigate accurately with compass and natural references
• Apply three elective adventure-dive skills such as wreck, night or buoyancy
• Improve air management and dive planning
• Build confidence across varied sites and depths
• Adapt to shore and boat diving conditions

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior Advanced Open Water) or 15 for full certification
• PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or equivalent
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep & navigation

   The two core adventure dives, building toward 30 metres on a wreck or wall and refining compass and natural navigation.
2. Day2
   Elective adventures

   Three elective dives chosen from wreck, night, buoyancy and more at Cirkewwa, Gozo or Comino, then certification.
