Course overview

Build real diving experience and reach 30 metres with the PADI Advanced Open Water course on Maafushi, in the Maldives' South Malé Atoll. Across five adventure dives, including the required Deep and Underwater Navigation dives, you explore sites like Maafushi Corner and Kandooma Thila where reef sharks and turtles patrol the current in warm 27-30°C water. You finish a more confident, capable diver certified to greater depth.

The PADI Advanced Open Water pathway

PADI Advanced Open Water includes five adventure dives and certifies you to 30 metres. The Deep and Underwater Navigation dives are mandatory; the other three are electives that each count as the first dive of the matching specialty, giving you a taste of further training.

Where you'll dive in Maafushi

Adventure dives run by day boat across South Malé Atoll sites such as Maafushi Corner, Kandooma Thila and Banana Reef, where reef sharks, turtles and rays cruise in calm to moderate conditions and 27-30°C water best dived November to April.
