Course overview

The PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course opens deeper, more varied diving across Baa Atoll in the Maldives, taking you to 30 metres and sharpening core skills through five adventure dives. You build navigation and deep-diving confidence on the current-fed reefs and channels near Dharavandhoo while encountering mantas, reef sharks and turtles.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to a maximum of 30 metres
• Navigate underwater using compass and natural references
• Improve buoyancy control and trim for reef and drift diving
• Apply skills across five adventure dives of your choosing
• Build experience handling mild currents on atoll reefs

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior Advanced Open Water)
• PADI Open Water Diver or qualifying certification
• Basic comfort and skills from entry-level training
• Diver medical clearance form (physician sign-off if needed)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Deep & navigation dives

   Complete the required Deep dive to 30 m and Underwater Navigation dive on local channels and reefs.
2. Day2
   Elective adventure dives

   Choose three elective dives - such as drift, buoyancy or naturalist - on the reefs near Dharavandhoo, then certify.
