The Mares Heavy Light Mounted System is a complete backmount harness set built around a marine-anodised 6061 aluminium backplate. It is configured to Hogarthian principles, giving technical and committed recreational divers a clean, minimal, fully streamlined rig with nothing dangling and everything where your hands expect it.

Rather than a soft, padded recreational BCD, this is a backplate-and-harness platform: a continuous webbing harness threaded through the plate, dressed with the D-rings, sliders and buckle you need to clip off lights, SMBs, stages and accessories exactly where you want them. The aluminium plate keeps the system light and corrosion-resistant while still holding the rigid shape that makes trim and gas management predictable.

The set arrives complete and ready to assemble, including the main harness webbing, crotch strap, elastic retainer loops and a full hardware kit of stainless-steel D-rings, sliding plates and the ventral buckle. It is aimed at divers who already understand backplate-and-wing diving and want a robust, configurable foundation to build their rig on.
