About olympia maru

Olympia Maru was a Japanese freighter (122 m) sunk in the 24 September 1944 US strike. She sits upright on the sand and is the shallowest of the Coron fleet — the top of the hull is at 3 m, the seabed at 19 m.

Even snorkelers can see the upper sections. Open Water divers can swim the deck and look into the cargo holds. Marine life has fully colonised her — schools of fusiliers, snappers, occasional turtles, soft coral growth everywhere.

OW certification is enough. Coron day boats run her as part of every wreck circuit. Often paired with the East Tangat or Lusong gunboats for a snorkel/dive combo trip.
