About mv mars

MV Mars is a small cargo/fishing vessel that sank in a storm off the north-west of Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep) in 2006. Two decades underwater have left her well-encrusted with corals — the hull is reef now.

The dive runs 15–30 m on the sand, with the top of the wreck at around 15–18 m. Reef fish, snappers, fusiliers, occasional seahorses and crocodilefish are the regular cast. Schools of sweetlips often shelter in the cargo hold.

Advanced Open Water is typically required by Andaman operators. Dive boats run from Havelock and occasionally Port Blair, October to May. Pair with the Inchkeith for a full Andaman wreck weekend.
