A WWII gunboat with the stern breaking the surface — snorkel-friendly and an easy first wreck.
Lusong Gunboat is a small Japanese gunboat sunk in the 24 September 1944 strike on Coron Bay. Her stern actually breaks the surface, making her a snorkel destination as well as a dive.
Maximum depth is about 11 m. The hull is encrusted in hard and soft corals — visually one of the prettiest wrecks in the bay. Reef fish, batfish, occasional turtles. The 0–5 m sections are perfect for snorkelers.
Snorkel access is open to anyone; Open Water is enough for the full dive. Day boats from Coron run her on every wreck circuit. Often paired with Olympia Maru or East Tangat for a relaxed wreck day.
