A small WWII subchaser lying inclined against a coral wall — great first wreck.
East Tangat Gunboat is a small Japanese auxiliary subchaser sunk in the 24 September 1944 strike. She lies inclined against the coral wall of East Tangat Island in Coron Bay.
Depth 3–22 m, hull tilted between reef and sand. Excellent coral growth, schooling fusiliers, occasional turtles. The shallow sections suit new wreck divers; the deeper end gives Advanced divers a longer profile.
Open Water is enough; Advanced opens up the deeper sections. Coron day boats run her year-round — usually as the easy second dive after Akitsushima or Irako.
