Course overview

Explore Nusa Penida's reefs from the surface with the SSI Snorkelling programme, a guided introduction to the underwater world with no diving experience needed. From the surface you can drift over coral gardens alive with tropical fish and, with luck, watch mantas glide below at the famous Manta Bay. It is the perfect way for non-divers and families to share in Nusa Penida's marine life.

What you’ll learn

• Fit and clear a mask, snorkel and fins correctly
• Breathe and float comfortably at the surface
• Use efficient finning and surface-dive technique
• Stay safe and aware of current while snorkelling

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age suitable for children with supervision
• Reasonable comfort and health in water

1. Day1
   Guided snorkel

   Learn the basics on a short briefing, then join a guided surface snorkel over a sheltered Nusa reef, watching for reef fish, turtles and mantas.
