Course overview

SSI's Diver Stress & Rescue course on Neil Island builds your ability to spot, prevent and manage diving emergencies in the island's gentle, low-traffic bays. The relaxed Andaman setting lets your instructor run repeatable scenarios until your responses become second nature.

What you’ll learn

• Recognise and prevent diver stress
• Perform self-rescue techniques
• Assist and tow distressed divers
• Rescue and surface an unresponsive diver
• Plan and coordinate emergency response

Prerequisites

• 12 years or older
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent
• Current CPR/first-aid (React Right)
• Medical clearance

   Stress and rescue skills

   Study stress recognition and drill rescue exercises in calm water.

   Scenarios
