Learn to prevent, recognise and manage diving emergencies with the SSI Diver Stress & Rescue course on Maafushi, in the Maldives' South Malé Atoll. Practising self-rescue and diver-assist drills on the calm island house reef and nearby atoll sites in warm 27-30°C water, you gain the awareness and skills to keep yourself and your buddies safe. It is the key step toward SSI professional-level training.
SSI Diver Stress & Rescue is SSI's equivalent of the rescue rating and a prerequisite for SSI Divemaster. It emphasises stress recognition and accident prevention, uses SSI's free digital learning platform, and requires a current first-aid / CPR certification such as SSI React Right to certify.
Drills begin on the sheltered island house reef, with scenarios run on South Malé Atoll sites such as Maafushi Corner in calm to moderate conditions and 27-30°C water. The Maldives dives best November to April when seas are steadiest.
