Course overview

Experience the reef after dark with the SSI Night Diving & Limited Visibility Specialty on Bangaram Island, exploring Lakshadweep's coral lagoon when the nocturnal residents come out. You learn to manage lights, navigation and communication in low-light conditions in calm, clear water. The course earns you the SSI Night Diving certification.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and conduct safe night and low-visibility dives
• Use primary and backup lights and light signals
• Navigate and stay oriented after dark
• Manage entries, descents and exits at night
• Recognise and respond to limited-visibility conditions
• Identify nocturnal marine life

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior) or 15
• SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent
• Comfortable with navigation and buoyancy
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician
