Course overview

Master finding your way underwater with the SSI Navigation specialty on Grand Cayman, practising on the well-defined reefs off the West Wall where clear water lets you confirm every heading. You learn compass navigation, natural references and distance estimation so you can lead dives and return reliably to your exit. The specialty counts toward SSI recognition ratings.

What you’ll learn

• Use a compass for accurate underwater navigation

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10
• SSI Open Water Diver (or equivalent certification)
• Comfortable buoyancy control
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician
