Step up to teaching scuba with the SSI Open Water Instructor programme in Bohol Panglao and finish qualified to certify your own students. Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• SSI Dive Guide / Divemaster or equivalent leadership rating from a recognised agency
• SSI Science of Diving certification (or equivalent)
• Recommended 75-100 logged dives entering the programme
• Current CPR, first aid and oxygen-provider training
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   SSI system orientation

   Review the SSI digital training system and deliver your first academic teaching presentations.
2. Day2
   Confined-water workshops

   Teach and demonstrate core skills in the calm shallows off Alona Beach.
3. Day3
   Open-water teaching

   Run open-water teaching circuits on Panglao's reefs under evaluation.
4. Day4
   Standards and safety

   Cover SSI standards, duty of care, risk management and the business of diving.
5. Day5
   Theory and assessments

   Complete dive-theory exams and the rescue assessment to instructor standard.
6. Day6
   Evaluation preparation

   Mock teaching presentations and a full briefing for the SSI Instructor Evaluation.
