Course overview

Certified divers can join guided SSI fun dives in Papua New Guinea to explore Kimbe Bay's coral seamounts, reef walls and WWII wrecks. From turtle-rich reefs around 18 m to walls and wrecks near 30 m, guides tailor each dive to your certification and the conditions of the day. It is a relaxed way to log world-class dives in a bay holding over half the planet's coral species.

What you’ll learn

• Use your SSI certification across diverse reef and wreck sites
• Improve buoyancy and air use over repeated dives
• Encounter marine life from anemonefish to turtles and reef sharks

Prerequisites

• SSI Open Water Diver (or equivalent) for shallower reef dives
• SSI Advanced Adventurer recommended for deeper walls and wrecks to 30 m
• Recent dive experience or a scuba refresher if needed
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Reef & wall dives

   Two guided morning dives on a Kimbe Bay seamount or reef wall, with a surface interval by an island.
2. Day1
   Afternoon dive

   An optional third dive on a turtle reef or a deeper WWII wreck, conditions and certification permitting.
