Course overview

Squeeze more out of every diving day with the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox specialty on Maafushi. Using enriched air on the multi-dive day boats around the South Malé Atoll, you extend no-decompression limits and shorten surface intervals so you can log more dives in warm 27-30°C water. It is one of SSI's most popular specialties for divers on busy reef itineraries.

What you’ll learn

• Understand the advantages and limits of enriched air
• Analyse and label nitrox cylinders correctly
• Configure and use enriched air on a dive computer
• Calculate maximum operating depth and oxygen exposure
• Plan nitrox dives for longer no-stop times
• Apply nitrox procedures on multi-dive days

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior) or 15
• SSI Open Water Diver (or qualifying equivalent)
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

1. Day1
   Academics & gas analysis

   Study enriched-air theory via the SSI app, practise analysing and labelling cylinders and setting your computer, then optionally apply it on an atoll dive.
