Course overview

Extend your bottom time with the SSI Enriched Air Nitrox specialty in Djibouti, a hugely popular add-on for divers exploring the Gulf of Tadjoura. Diving nitrox lets you lengthen no-decompression limits on the region's reefs and walls and shorten surface intervals, perfect for the repetitive boat and liveaboard diving common here at the mouth of the Red Sea. The mostly theory-based course completes in a day.

What you’ll learn

• Understand the advantages and limits of diving enriched air
• Analyse cylinder oxygen content and configure your dive computer
• Calculate maximum operating depth and track oxygen exposure
• Plan nitrox dives that safely extend no-decompression time
• Correctly label, log and handle enriched-air cylinders

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior) or 15
• SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent certification
• No additional logged-dive requirement
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician
