Course overview

Earn your SSI Dive Guide / Divemaster rating in the Solomon Islands and turn diving into a profession surrounded by Iron Bottom Sound's WWII wreck graveyard and the region's untouched Pacific reefs. SSI's flexible, performance-based training has you guiding certified divers and logging real leadership experience across the Guadalcanal and Munda regions in warm 27-30°C water. You complete it ready to work as a certified dive professional.

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 18
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent certification
• SSI Diver Stress & Rescue certification
• Current first aid and CPR training
• A minimum number of logged dives (built during the programme)
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Orientation & theory

   Programme briefing and SSI dive-science study, plus waterskills and stamina assessments.
2. Day2
   Demonstration skills

   Refine demonstration-quality skills in calm water before applying them on reef sites near Munda.
3. Day3
   Leadership workshops

   Dive-site mapping, group control and emergency-management exercises along the Guadalcanal coast.
4. Day4
   Internship & certification

   Guide certified divers and assist students on reef and Iron Bottom Sound wreck sites, then finalise assessment and certification.
