Course overview

SSI Try Scuba is a guided first taste of diving for beginners with no prior experience, supervised closely by an instructor. After a short skills introduction you explore a shallow Zanzibar reef to a maximum of 12m, typically among the corals and reef fish near Mnemba Atoll.

What you’ll learn

• Take your first breaths underwater on scuba
• Get comfortable with mask, fins and regulator
• Clear your mask and recover the regulator
• Equalise and move calmly underwater
• Follow your instructor and basic hand signals
• Experience a guided reef dive to a maximum of 12m

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10
• No experience or swimming certification required
• Comfortable in water
• Basic medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if any condition applies)
