SSI's Try Scuba experience lets you breathe underwater for the first time on a sheltered Sharm El Sheikh reef, with an instructor beside you the whole way. After a relaxed briefing you descend over the coral gardens of Near Garden, surrounded by reef fish in 24-28C water. It is the gentlest possible introduction to Red Sea diving.
SSI's Try Scuba is a non-certification programme; if you continue, your experience can credit toward SSI Scuba Diver or Open Water, and SSI's digital tools track your progress.
The experience runs on calm fringing reefs like Near Garden and Ras Katy, with shallow 0-12m profiles and superb 20-30m clarity. Clownfish, butterflyfish and morays populate the coral, and turtles sometimes appear even on a first dive.
