Course overview

Take your first breaths underwater with the SSI Try Scuba experience in Moalboal, Cebu – no certification required. After a short briefing and shallow-water practice, an SSI professional leads you on a guided dive along the gentle Panagsama Beach house reef, home to turtles and the renowned sardine school. It is a relaxed introduction to the underwater world.

What you’ll learn

• Breathe and relax underwater on scuba
• Handle a mask, fins, regulator and BCD
• Equalise ears and clear a mask
• Stay buoyant and move with your guide
• Communicate using basic hand signals
• Experience a guided reef dive safely

Prerequisites

• No experience or certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Basic water comfort (non-swimmers welcome with the instructor)
• Short medical questionnaire; clearance needed for some conditions
