Course overview

Extend your range to SSI Deep Diving standard in North Malé Atoll, where channel walls and drop-offs fall away beyond recreational depths. Across four dives you learn to plan and manage dives to 40 metres, monitoring gas and narcosis, so you can safely explore the deeper reef structures and big-fish action the atoll is known for.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives to a maximum of 40 metres
• Recognise and manage nitrogen narcosis
• Monitor gas consumption and turn-pressure on deep profiles
• Use a reference line and manage controlled ascents with safety stops
• Handle deep-water colour loss and timekeeping

Prerequisites

• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent
• Minimum age 15
• Completion of a diver medical questionnaire; physician sign-off if required

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Pre-dive theory

   Complete the knowledge development and dive-planning material before the in-water sessions, online or at the dive base.
2. Day2
   Theory & first deep dives

   Cover deep-diving theory and planning, then make your first two dives progressing past 18 metres.
3. Day3
   Deeper dives & assessment

   Complete dives toward 40 metres on a channel wall, practising gas management and narcosis checks, then certify.
