Course overview

The SSI Deep Diving specialty in Muscat opens up Oman's deeper reef structures, taking you toward 40 metres on the offshore walls of the Daymaniyat Islands and around Fahal Island. With SSI's digital theory and a series of progressively deeper dives you build the planning, gas-management and narcosis-awareness skills for confident deep diving. You finish as a certified SSI Deep Diver.

What you’ll learn

• Plan and execute dives toward the 40m recreational limit
• Manage gas supply and reserves on deep profiles
• Recognise and respond to nitrogen narcosis
• Control buoyancy, time and ascent rates at depth
• Use contingency and safety-stop procedures
• Understand the effects of depth on light, colour and physiology

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 15
• SSI Advanced Adventurer or equivalent certification
• Comfortable with buoyancy and open-water diving
• Medical statement and physician sign-off where indicated

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Digital theory & first dives

   Complete SSI deep-diving modules and dive the Daymaniyat walls to begin building depth experience.
2. Day2
   Deeper profiles & certification

   Progress toward 40m near Fahal Island with narcosis and ascent drills, then certify as a Deep Diver.
