Course overview

Make your very first real dives with the SSI Basic Diver program on Grand Cayman, a guided step up from Try Scuba in the island's calm, clear Caribbean water. You learn essential scuba skills and complete supervised open-water dives on gentle reefs near George Town, building genuine confidence. It is a stepping stone you can later credit toward full Open Water certification.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble and use basic scuba equipment
• Breathe and move comfortably underwater

• No prior scuba certification required

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Skills and first dive

   Cover the basics, practise core skills in shallow water and make your first supervised reef dive near George Town.
2. Day2
   Open-water dive and recognition

   Complete a further supervised reef dive, consolidate your skills and earn the SSI Basic Diver rating.
