Course overview

SSI Basic Diver is a short, supervised entry-level programme that introduces real scuba skills and shallow open-water diving, ideal for first-timers in Fujairah who want more than a single try dive. Training in the calm shallows off Snoopy Island, you learn core skills and dive to 12 metres with an instructor, building a foundation you can later extend to full Open Water Diver.

What you’ll learn

• Set up and use basic scuba equipment
• Perform essential skills like mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Descend, equalise and control buoyancy with support
• Make supervised dives to a maximum of 12 metres
• Dive safely with an instructor and spot reef life

Prerequisites

• No experience or swimming certification required
• Minimum age 10
• Reasonable health and comfort in water
• Completion of the SSI medical questionnaire

1. Day1
   Skills introduction

2. Day2
   Supervised dives

   Make supervised open-water dives to 12 metres on Fujairah's reefs and earn SSI Basic Diver recognition.
