Course overview

The PADI Scuba Diver certification is a streamlined subset of the Open Water course, qualifying you to dive to 12m under the supervision of a PADI professional. It is ideal for time-short visitors to Zanzibar who want a real certification to enjoy guided dives around Mnemba Atoll and Stone Town.

What you’ll learn

• Master core scuba skills in confined water
• Assemble, check and use scuba equipment
• Clear your mask and recover the regulator
• Control buoyancy, descents and ascents
• Dive safely to 12m with a PADI professional

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior Scuba Diver)
• No prior certification required
• Able to float/swim and be comfortable in water
• Medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if any condition applies)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & confined water

   Complete the first knowledge sections and confined-water skills, then your first open-water dive near Mnemba to 12m.
2. Day2
   Open water & certification

   A second open-water training dive on a Stone Town or Mnemba reef to complete the Scuba Diver rating.
