Course overview

The PADI Scuba Diver certification at Sipadan is a sub-level of Open Water, ideal for beginners short on time who train on the calm reefs off Mabul Island. You complete the first portions of knowledge development, confined-water skills and open-water dives, earning a recognised rating that lets you dive with a PADI professional to 12 metres. It can be upgraded to full Open Water Diver whenever you are ready.

PADI Scuba Diver is a recognised certification and a sub-level of Open Water Diver. It certifies you to dive to 12 metres with a PADI professional and can be upgraded to full Open Water Diver by completing the remaining dives and knowledge sections.

Where you'll dive in Sipadan

Training uses the calm, shallow house reef off Mabul Island, a sheltered and turtle-rich site where the gentle April-to-October conditions suit beginners completing supervised open-water dives.
