Course overview

Get certified faster with the PADI Scuba Diver course on Ambergris Caye, a subset of Open Water that lets you dive to 12 metres under a professional's guidance on the Belize Barrier Reef. You complete confined-water training and two open-water dives in the clear shallows off San Pedro, with the option to upgrade to full Open Water Diver later.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble and operate scuba equipment
• Perform core safety skills including mask clearing
• Control buoyancy and ascend and descend safely
• Communicate underwater with hand signals
• Dive to 12 metres with a PADI professional
• Plan simple dives within training limits

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10
• Comfortable in water and able to swim
• No prior certification required
• Complete a diver medical questionnaire
