Course overview

The PADI Rescue Diver course transforms you into a more confident, self-reliant buddy, ready to prevent and manage dive emergencies. Zanzibar's calm, accessible reefs off Stone Town and Mnemba Atoll give an ideal setting to rehearse tired-diver tows, surface rescues and missing-diver searches in warm 25-29C water.

The PADI Rescue Diver pathway

PADI Rescue Diver requires current EFR (CPR and first aid) training, which can be completed alongside the course. It is a prerequisite for the Divemaster rating and counts toward the Master Scuba Diver recognition.

Where you'll dive in Zanzibar

Rescue scenarios use the sheltered shallows and gently sloping reefs near Stone Town and Mnemba Atoll, where calm July-to-February conditions and warm water let you focus on technique rather than fighting the sea.
