Course overview

Become a calmer, more capable diver with the PADI Rescue Diver course in Moalboal, Cebu – widely described as the most rewarding course in the PADI system. Practising along the Panagsama Beach house reef, you learn to anticipate, prevent and manage diving emergencies in the same warm, accessible waters where many local divers train, building the skills needed to help yourself and others. You finish certified to handle real diving incidents with confidence.

What you’ll learn

• Recognise and respond to diver stress before it becomes an emergency
• Rescue panicked, tired and unresponsive divers at the surface and underwater
• Bring an unresponsive diver to the surface and give in-water rescue breaths
• Exit a diver from the water and provide CPR and emergency oxygen
• Manage a dive emergency, including search and accident-response procedures
• Plan for self-rescue and effective dive-buddy assistance

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 12 (Junior Rescue Diver)
• PADI Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water (with Underwater Navigation)
• Emergency First Response primary and secondary care within 24 months
• Diver medical clearance signed by a physician

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Knowledge & self-rescue

   Complete the knowledge reviews and practise self-rescue and tired-diver skills in the shallows off Panagsama Beach.
2. Day2
   Rescue skills

   Work through the ten rescue exercises, including responding to panicked and unresponsive divers on the house reef.
3. Day3
   Scenario assessments

   Put it all together in full emergency-management scenarios and earn your certification.
