Course overview

Become a calmer, more capable diver with the PADI Rescue Diver course on the sheltered west coast of Mauritius. Through scenarios in the Flic-en-Flac lagoon and at calm reef sites, you learn to anticipate problems, manage stress and handle diver emergencies from self-rescue through to unresponsive-diver recovery. It is widely regarded as the most rewarding course in the PADI system and is the gateway to professional training.

The PADI Rescue Diver pathway

The PADI Rescue Diver course requires current Emergency First Response training and is the final core course before professional-level Divemaster. It counts toward the PADI Master Scuba Diver rating.

Where you'll dive in Mauritius

Skills are introduced in the calm Flic-en-Flac lagoon, then practised at sheltered west-coast reefs in the settled November-to-April season, where good visibility makes search-and-recovery exercises realistic but manageable.
