Course overview

Earn your PADI Open Water Diver certification in the Solomon Islands and gain a globally recognised licence to dive independently among the Pacific's untouched reefs and WWII wrecks. Over confined-water and four open-water training dives around Guadalcanal and Munda, in warm 27-30°C water, you build the core skills to dive anywhere. You certify to a depth of 18 metres.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble, use and maintain scuba equipment
• Clear your mask, recover your regulator and manage your air
• Achieve neutral buoyancy and controlled descents and ascents
• Plan dives using tables or a dive computer
• Handle common problems and basic underwater navigation
• Dive safely with a buddy to a maximum of 18 metres

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior Open Water Diver)
• No prior certification required
• Able to swim and float / tread water comfortably
• Complete a diver medical questionnaire (physician sign-off if needed)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & confined water

   Knowledge development and your first confined-water sessions practising core skills in calm, shallow water.
2. Day2
   Open-water dives 1-2

   Apply your skills on the first two open-water training dives on a sheltered Guadalcanal reef.
3. Day3
   Open-water dives 3-4 & exam

   Complete the final two training dives near Munda, sit the theory exam and certify.
