Course overview

The PADI Open Water Diver course is the world's most popular scuba certification, qualifying you to dive independently to 18 metres, and Fujairah's calm east-coast reefs are an ideal place to earn it. You progress from confined-water skills to four open-water training dives at sites like Snoopy Island and Dibba Rock, finishing as a certified diver who can dive anywhere in the world.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble, check and maintain your scuba equipment
• Master core skills including mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Control buoyancy, descents and ascents independently
• Plan dives with tables or a computer and manage air supply
• Handle common problems and dive safely with a buddy
• Identify Fujairah's reef life such as turtles, rays and reef fish

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior Open Water 10-14)
• No prior experience or certification required
• Able to swim and float/tread water comfortably
• Completion of the standard scuba medical questionnaire

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & first skills

   Finish the eLearning knowledge sections and begin confined-water skills in the calm shallows off Snoopy Island.
2. Day2
   Confined water

   Complete the remaining confined-water sessions, building comfort and control.
3. Day3
   Open-water dives 1 & 2

   Apply your skills on the first two open-water training dives at Dibba Rock.
4. Day4
   Open-water dives 3 & 4

   Complete the final two training dives to 18 metres and certify as a PADI Open Water Diver.
