Course overview

Earn your PADI Open Water Diver certification in Cyprus, the world's most recognised entry-level qualification, letting you dive independently with a buddy to 18 metres. You complete four open-water training dives in the calm, warm Mediterranean off Ayia Napa, training in sheltered bays like Green Bay before exploring local reefs.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble, use and care for scuba equipment
• Master 20-plus core skills including mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Achieve neutral buoyancy and efficient finning
• Plan dives with tables or a computer and manage air
• Dive to a maximum of 18 metres with a certified buddy
• Handle common problems and ascend safely

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior Open Water below 15)
• No prior certification required
• Able to swim 200 metres and float/tread water for 10 minutes
• Diver medical questionnaire (doctor sign-off if needed)

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory and confined water

   Knowledge development and the first confined-water sessions practising core skills in the shallows of Green Bay.
2. Day2
   Open-water dives 1 and 2

   Apply your skills on the first two open-water training dives in the calm Mediterranean.
3. Day3
   Open-water dives 3 and 4 and certification

   Complete the final two training dives on local reef sites, pass the exam and certify.
