Course overview

Earn the world's most recognised entry-level scuba qualification, the PADI Open Water Diver, in one of the planet's premier wreck-diving destinations. Over around three days in warm 27-29C water you complete theory, confined-water sessions and four open-water training dives on sheltered Coron sites such as the Lusong Gunboat. You finish certified to dive to 18 metres anywhere in the world with a buddy.

What you’ll learn

• Assemble, check and use complete scuba equipment
• Master essential skills such as mask clearing and regulator recovery
• Achieve neutral buoyancy and good trim
• Plan dives with tables or a dive computer
• Respond to common problems and assist a buddy
• Dive independently with a buddy to a maximum of 18 metres

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10 (Junior Open Water Diver) or 15 for full certification
• No prior experience required
• Able to swim 200 metres and float or tread water for 10 minutes
• Complete a medical questionnaire; some conditions need a doctor's sign-off

Day-by-day itinerary

1. Day1
   Theory & confined water

   Work through the knowledge development and exam, then confined-water sessions to master the core skills.
2. Day2
   First open-water dives

   Make your first two open-water training dives on sheltered Coron sites such as the Lusong Gunboat.
3. Day3
   Final dives & certification

   Complete the remaining open-water dives to 18 metres, demonstrate your skills and earn certification.
