Course overview

The PADI Underwater Navigator specialty sharpens your ability to find your way underwater with a compass and natural references, a skill that pays off on Fujairah's reef and wall sites. Practising at Dibba Rock and Sharm Rocks, you learn to run accurate patterns, estimate distance and navigate back to your exit point with confidence.

What you’ll learn

• Use a compass to follow accurate headings and reciprocals
• Navigate by natural references such as reef contours and ripples
• Estimate distance using kick cycles and timing
• Run square, rectangular and reciprocal patterns
• Relocate a submerged object and find your exit point

Prerequisites

• Minimum age 10
• PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or equivalent
• Basic comfort with buoyancy and core skills

1. Day1
   Navigation dives

   Review navigation theory, then complete the three navigation dives practising compass and natural reference techniques at Dibba Rock and Sharm Rocks.
